Models Magazine recently held their public launch at Sungei Wang Plaza as visitors and media alike were treated to a grand show featuring the latest apparel from famous fashion brands. The event started off with a kick when founder Leng Yein unveiled the magazine to the cheering crowd and swifly started the ball rolling by showcasing clothing after clothing worn by the models featured in the 1st issue of the mag. Despite their lack of experience, the models showed off what they have learned since their last show, and I believe many have improved. Some were more daring this time around while some showed their quirky (and sometimes funny) side. The guy with the lil teddy bear caught us by surprise! Later during the show, Leng Yein had the models parade one-by-one in order for the photographers to have a better shot 2nd time around. This was an excellent move although some were a lil fast and towards the end they had to speed things up due to the lack of time. Overall it was quite an event and I believe there will be more to come from this newcomer to the publishing industry.
There's a first time for everything, and for me it was also my 1st time shooting with the SB-80DX. The lack of experience shooting with the flash showed as I tried many different settings throughout the event. Not having a screen to preview the shots I took was a lil distracting, but I managed to get some "okay" shots. A few didn't develop and most of them came out... weird. The bad lighting was also a major influence to the photos and it was also my 1st time shooting at Sungei Wang.
To the models, guys and gurls, if you don't look too good in the photos, my apologies, I wished I could have done better, and I'll try to improve during the next event (hopefully the lighting will be better). I'm quite bad with names, so if any of you guys and girls see yourselves here, do let me know who you are yeah, really sorry. And Leng Yein, congrats on your launch, may your magazine be really successful~ Keep up the good work!
